Chocolate Chip Cookies

I’ve been trying to find the perfect cookie for ages, none seem to be fitting the bill for me though every recipe I find that states its the “perfect cookie” just always fall short, they are always good but never quite enough, well in my opinion anyway… Always manage to be too crunchy, too chewy, too thin or too thick, even once managed to make them taste like fried eggs. Anyway this is the closest I’ve come to the “perfect” chocolate chip cookie for now.

Ingredients:

  • 90g flour
  • 75g melted unsalted butter
  • 90g brown sugar
  • 45g white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 150g of chocolate chips

 

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 160
  2. Mix all the dry ingredients together and set aside
  3. Mix the butter and sugars together026
  4. Then beat in eggs and vanilla essence until well combined028
  5. Then in parts mix in your dry ingredients followed by your chocolate chips031
  6. Then take your dough and place on to a prepared baking tray lined with baking paper, I did some rolled up in little balls and some just popped ontop of the paper ( the ones that popped on the the paper I much rather the effect off)033
  7. Bake for 10-15mins depending on your own liking of cookies, less time means they are more chewy and more means they are crunchy, I cookied until the outside was golden but still a little puffy in the middle to make them chewy035
